Digital Memory Book

We’re wrapping up what may go down as the strangest school year we’ve ever had, and I’m of the mindset that this group of kiddos deserves an extra-special send off! We may not be able to do all of the traditional end-of-year things with our students this year, but we can do some of them!

I created a Digital Memory Book last week to help you and your students capture all of the memories you made this year, and to commemorate how this year was a little different from all of the others. This Digital Memory Book is hosted in Google Slides, so you and your students will need to have a Google account in order to access and edit the file. Because this is a digital file, and we’re all handling this differently, I have two ways that you can use this book:

Option 1: Make the book(s) yourself to share with your entire class.

This digital book makes it easy to insert pictures and text of your own. If you are the teacher who traditionally makes a memory book to share with your class on the last day of school, you can easily accomplish that digitally with this product. You can make one, general book that can be given to each student, or duplicate the file for each child to make books with different pictures. Once you have finished the books, you can export the Google file to a PDF. From there, you can print and mail them to your students as a special end-of-year surprise, or email them out! If you made one, generic book for the entire class, you also could post the link in your digital classroom for students and families to view!

Option 2: Share the file with your students so that they can make their own memory books!

Because this is already in Google Slides, it’s super easy to share with your students to allow them to create their own memory books. You can email pictures you may have taken this year from special class activities, or let students insert their own. I think it would be really fun to have students share their finished books in your digital classroom so everyone can see what others wrote!

This Digital Memory Book can be used for any elementary grade level! I have cover options for each grade level in Google Slides already, so all you need to do is delete the slides you don’t need, and get started!
